OUR STORY

At our core, we are optical retailers—opticians and optometrists. As a proudly independent, third-generation family practice, Harry Toulch Optométristes has served the Montreal community since 1958. We also happen to love rimless eyewear.

Rimless is one of the most important categories in eyewear. By enabling customization of lens size and shape, rimless places the optician’s expertise and creativity at the center of the process and allows true differentiation. Rimless can deliver a strong return on investment by reducing the need to carry large amounts of inventory and allowing a relatively small number of frames to go a long way. In addition to these advantages, rimless is inherently more eco-friendly,  requiring less material to produce and by generating less waste.

Our first major project, launched in 2005 as TOULCH ONE (known internationally as TRY CHANGE and LOOK&KRYS 360), introduced a new concept of color-interchangeable rimless eyewear. Its international success confirmed our belief that rimless can be uniquely innovative and expressive. Building on that experience, we focused our research and development on solving the well-known mechanical problems of rimless eyewear. 

Like every optician, we dealt with time-consuming assembly, disassembly, waste, loosening nut-and-bolt hardware, messy glue, breakage, and costly remakes. We therefore set out to make rimless simpler and faster to mount, eliminating the need for consumable parts like plastic sleeves, washers, nuts and glue.  Less wasted material, less wasted time.

With that in mind, we are proud to launch TOULCH RIMLESS, a new rimless platform, which accomplishes all these goals.
With the release of  Phi 1.0, our first model and  winner of the SILMO d’Or 2025 for Technological Innovation, we proudly present a break-through rimless system created by optical retailers, for optical retailers.
